Insulation materials for electrical cells in batteries
In an increasingly important sector in the world, such as Electric mobility, Sertek has several solutions for the isolation of the electric cells that make up an electrical battery, whatever the vehicle where it is applied.
Depending on the nature of the material, we can find two different types:
material widely known as a great electrical insulator, with very high resistance to temperature and a real barrier against flame. It offers a guarantee of electrical insulation and protection against fire, as well as mechanical protection against puncture.
Various thicknesses available from 0.5mm.
Compression Pad SK-EX1000
silicone foam with high elasticity, compression and flame retardant. It is suitable for sealing, cushioning, and also thermally insulating cells in electric batteries, which is its main application. It has excellent resistance to environmental aging, medium chemical resistance, and total reliability too. Natural adhesion of the material. Standard thicknesses from 1 to 3mm. Available in sheet or die-cut piece.
Polyimide film that combines high electrical insulation with UL V-0 self-extinguishing. With or without adhesive, its standard thickness is 0.125mm. Upon request and minimum quantity, it can be offered in 0.250mm. Available in roll or die cut piece.
Special film with great electrical insulation, medium resistance to temperature (90-100 ° C), with UL 94 V-0 self-extinguishing.
Range of usual thicknesses of 0.250mm, 0.375mm and 0.500mm.
It has no adhesive. Available in roll or die cut piece.
Polyester film has good resistance to temperature (up to 150ºC) and great capacity as an electrical insulator. IT IS NOT SELF-EXTINGUISHING but has a wide range of thicknesses from 0’125mm to 0’350mm. Available with or without adhesive. Available in roll or die cut piece.
